Peacemaker: HBO Max confirms the second season of James Gunn’s series
HBO Max has confirmed for the second season of Peacemaker, starring John Cena. The web series is a prequel to DC Comics’ James Gunn’s 2021 film The Suicide Squad, in which Cena portrayed Christopher “Peacemaker” Marks.
The series’ first season premiered on HBO Max in January to excellent reviews from fans and reviewers. HBO Max said that Gunn, who developed the show, will direct and also write all episodes for season two.
The action-adventure-comedy series looks into the beginnings of Peacemaker. He is a man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to obtain it.
Garena Free Fire: India bans the game along with 53 other apps
India has banned Garena Free Fire, a famous battle royale game, on February 14, 2022. Further, the Ministry of Home Affairs has also banned 53 other applications.
Google and Apple already removed the game from the Play Store and the Apple App Store a day before the announcement of the ban. Garena, a Singapore-based company, has now issued an update on the matter.
Meanwhile, the higher-graphic version of the popular game, Free Fire MAX, remains available on the Play Store, presumably untouched by the prohibition.
According to an App Annie analysis, Free Fire was one of India’s top downloaded games in 2021. Also, it had occupied the void left by PUBG Mobile after it was banned in September 2020.
IOC: India will host the International Olympic Committee session of 2023
Mumbai, India will be the host city for the 2023 International Olympic Committee (IOC) session. Eventually, that results in the selection of the host country for the 2030 Winter Olympics and the sports program for the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.
An IOC session is the yearly assembly of the IOC’s members, divided into 101 voting members and 45 honorary members.
The session debates and makes decisions on the essential activities of the worldwide Olympic movement. That is like the approval or change of the Olympic Charter, the election of IOC members and office-bearers. And also the selection of the Olympic host city.
Games of Thrones writer’s Wild Cards revamps into Marvel Comics as a new comic series
A new announcement George R.R. Martin would collaborate with Marvel to create a new series of comic books.
According to the Game of Thrones writer, working with the superhero franchise giant was a privilege that offered him “no end of delight”.
Wild Cards is a superhero world created by Martin and Snodgrass that played out as a series of novels and short tales.
The overall premise is that an alien virus known as ‘Wild Card’ has infiltrated Earth society. And those affected by it dealt with, seemingly at different abilities that fall into three classes. Firstly, ‘Joker’ as in physical mutations. Secondly, ‘Ace’ as in straight-up superpowers. Or finally, ‘Black Queen’ as in sudden death from the virus.
BCCI: Rohit Sharma is now the captain for all three formats
BCCI has selected Rohit Sharma as India’s captain across all three forms, succeeding Virat Kohli. As expected,
India’s chief selector Chetan Sharma named Rohit the country’s new Test captain, just weeks after Kohli resigned after the series defeat in South Africa.
At the same time, they were announcing the squads for the three T20Is against Sri Lanka and the two-Test series against the same team at home next month.
